Privacy and data

Bambuzzle is managed by Pascal van Zalk, reachable through the contact page. This explanation describes the data the website uses. All games can be played as a guest. The public leaderboard needs a chosen player name; avoid using a full name or sensitive information.

Your profile and rounds

The server stores your player name, profile identifier, creation date and scores until the profile is deleted. Name and points are public on the leaderboard. Your recovery code is stored as a hash; the original is shown once. A secure player cookie recognises your profile for up to 365 days. A session cookie temporarily connects your current game and guest result. Rounds expire after two hours. Network data is used as a protected hash for up to one hour to limit abuse.

In your browser

Theme, language, difficulty and personal ideas are stored locally in your browser. Ideas are not sent to the public leaderboard. Captions and creative-tool input are not stored as public posts. Clearing browser data removes local preferences and may remove profile recognition. Keep your recovery code yourself.

External services and contact

Pages load fonts through Google Fonts and contain Google's AdSense code. Depending on availability and your consent choice, Google may process data for advertising. The consent message manages those choices; refusal must not block games or the leaderboard. Hosting and security services may process IP addresses and request data in server logs; retention depends on hosting settings. Contact the administrator for access, correction or deletion of your profile, or for privacy questions.
